Po Leung Kuk “Low Carbon Vegetarian” Cooking Contest

"Green Lifestyle", an environmental programme organized by Po Leung Kuk and sponsored by AEON, has been successfully implemented in 2017. As the last event, the "Low Carbon Vegetarian" Cooking Contest (Final) was held on 16th November in AEON Lai Chi Kok Store. 6 teams of contestants were formed by mentally handicapped, ex-mentally ill persons and their tutors from Po Leung Kuk rehabilitation centres and Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association. With the theme of“low carbon" and "vegetarian", the ingredients were mainly fruits and vegetables. Some teams also included creative and healthy ingredients, such as carrageen, peel of watermelon and peel of dragon fruit, in the recipes. All the dishes looked great, smelled nice and tasted fantastic.

This activity is very meaningful as it has conveyed the messages of green lifestyle as well as caring for the community at the same time.
