AEON Awarded “Excellence of Environmental Activity” in U Green Awards 2017
AEON has been striving towards the development of a sustainable society over the years, joining hand in hand with stakeholders to contribute to environmental conservation through various programmes. In U Green Awards 2017, organised by "U Magazine", AEON 30th Anniversary Tree Planting Day was awarded "Excellence of Environmental Activity" for its positive impact and persistent contribution as an eco-friendly project.
U Green Awards, which aims to recognise the outstanding environmental achievements of organisations and industries, has been organised for 8 years. The 2017 award presentation ceremony was held on 9 October with the presence of Mr. Wong Kam-sing, GBS, JP, Secretary for the Environment, who shared with the audience the development of environmental protection in Hong Kong.
AEON 30th Anniversary Tree Planting Day was held on 29 April 2017. Participants comprised of 200 customers and staff members gathered in Tai Lam Country Park to support environmental protection and conservation of local ecological environment. A total of 450 tree seedlings of native species were planted. It is hoped that the seedlings would grow into lush and healthy forest with fleshy fruits, bringing in more wild animals and insects, so that the biodiversity of country park plantation would be enriched.
