AEON Day: “Food Grace” Food Recycling Volunteer Service

On 11th November - "AEON Day", volunteers from AEON visited “Food Grace”, a food recycling organization. Volunteers and the representatives of Food Grace went to Tai Wo Estate and the wet market in Taipo to collect the discarded part of vegetables, then brought back to Food Grace’s centre for sorting and distribution to the people in need.

To support low-carbon lifestyle, volunteers walked to the market instead of taking transportation. Nearly 40 kg of vegetables were collected, and many elderly were waiting outside Food Grace’s centre when the volunteers were sorting the food, which was a great motivation for the volunteers. The activity was a good chance to learn the importance of treasuring food and reducing waste.
