AEON Day: Mai Po Nature Reserve Volunteer Activities

On the AEON Day of March, a group of AEON volunteers participated in Mai Po Nature Reserve Volunteer Activities to make a contribution to protecting the environment.

Led by the staff of World Wildlife Fund Hong Kong and Mai Po Nature Reserve, AEON volunteers first transported silt nearby Gei Wai to widen the footpath of the nature reserve. It helps to build a safer and more comfortable environment for visitors. And then, AEON volunteers clear Mikania micrantha which hinder the growth of other plants. It helps to keep the ecological balance of Mai Po Nature Reserve and create a comfortable home for different kinds of birds and insects. Through this opportunity, AEON volunteers also learned a lot of knowledge about the ecological features and their importance to Mai Po Nature Reserve.
