AEON STORES TO CLOSE GRAND WATERFRONT STORES AT TO KWA WAN   REMAINS OPTIMISTIC ABOUT HONG KONG RETAIL MARKET PROSPECTS AND CONTINUES TO LOOK FOR OPPORTUNITIES FOR BUSINESS EXPANSION

 

(HONG KONG, 19 July 2013) – AEON SUPERMARKET and Living Plaza by AEON Grand Waterfront Store operated by AEON Stores (Hong Kong) Co., Limited ("AEON Stores" or the "Group") (Stock code: 984) will be closed on 21 July 2013 due to the expiry of the leasing contract.

Ms. Christine Chan, Managing Director of AEON Stores, said, "We would like to express our gratitude to our customers, in particular the residents of To Kwa Wan and Kowloon City for their unwavering support of the Grand Waterfront Stores since 2007. The AEON Kowloon City Plaza Store opened in March this year and AEON Whampoa Store will continue to bring the unique AEON one-stop and accessible shopping experience to residents in the districts. In the future, we will continue to evaluate suitable locations for opening new stores to further expand our business, while adhering to our credo of 'Everything we do, we do for our customers' to deliver the distinctive products and service for which AEON is renowned."
