AEON STORES HOLDS ITALIAN FOOD FAIR 2010 AT JUSOC WITH ITALIAN TRADE COMMISSION

Hong Kong, 24 September 2010 – The Italian Trade Commission and AEON Stores (Hong Kong) Co., Limited (‘AEON Stores’) jointly present the “Italian Food Fair 2010 at JUSCO” in 9 outlets, begins on 22 September and goes until 3 October 2010.

“Italian Food Fair 2010 symbolises a growing friendship between Hong Kong and Italy,” says Ambassador Umberto Vattani, President of the Italian Trade Commission. “This fair is also a portrayal of the hugely successful and fruitful relationship between the Italian Trade Commission and AEON Stores. Most importantly, we hope that the bond between Hong Kong and Italy will be further strengthened by this fair and that this fair will be held for the years to come.”

The fair, featuring more than 450 food and beverage items, serves as a museum for Italian wines, olive oils, vinegars, truffles, and snacks. Sicilian wines, renowned for their uniqueness and a rarity in Hong Kong, will be showcased during the fair. Moreover, a wide selection of Italian desserts and jams will be on Hong Kong's shores for the first time ever. Most importantly, the range of products will not be limited to a particular region, but will represent the whole spectrum of Italy's food and drink culture of its territory.

According to Mr. Lam Man Tin, Managing Director of AEON Stores Hong Kong, “It is AEON Stores’ privilege and honour to continue this rewarding and meaningful partnership between JUSCO and the Italian Trade Commission. As a platform for cultural exchange, we have found this fair to be palpably successful. Last year, we brought a distinctly Molisian taste of Italy to Hong Kong and this year we hope to bring the diversity and authenticity of the boot-shaped Mediterranean peninsula to this gem of a territory in the South China Sea. AEON Stores is excited that this Hong Kong-Italian relationship is gradually developing into a Hong Kong-Italian tradition.”

What is I.C.E.?

The Italian Institute for Foreign Trade (I.C.E.), also known as the Italian Trade Commission is the government agency which promotes, facilitates, and develops trade between Italy and the rest of the world. I.C.E. assists Italian companies to grow in foreign markets, and promotes inwardoutward investment.

I.C.E. also carries out an intense training activity for Italian and foreign managers operating on international markets to promote the “Made in Italy”.

Located in Rome, the Head Office operates in connection with a worldwide network of offices (17 regional offices in Italy and around 116 offices in over 88 countries).

S.IN.C.E., the Italian Foreign Trade Information System that can be accessed at www.ice.gov.it, along with an extensive application of IT resources, facilitates the continuous exchange of data from the network. This allows I.C.E. to respond in real time to the new challenges of the global market.

Foreign companies can also reach I.C.E. through the specialised official websites, www.italtrade.com where they can obtain information and assistance, in order to source potential Italian partners.
