AEON Day: St. James Settlement Inclusive Christmas Party

"Art‧Love‧In community", a social inclusion programme organized by St. James Settlement (SJS) and sponsored by AEON, has been implemented in 2018. The programme serves as a platform for the disabled to demonstrate their art ability in art classes, wall painting activities and artwork exhibitions. A "Community Visit Day" was also held in September where volunteers from AEON and SJS visited elderly in nearby districts.

Marking the end of the programme, an "Inclusive Christmas Party" was held on the AEON Day of December. AEON volunteer team visited SJS to have an early celebration of Christmas with their 200 members. First, volunteers and some rehabilitated persons from SJS teamed up to held carnival games for the members. After that, a lunch gathering session was arranged for volunteers and the members to communicate with each other. The activity was concluded by an exciting lucky-draw session and all of the participants enjoyed the activity with laughter.

This activity has not only allowed AEON volunteers to understand more on the needs of the rehabilitated persons, but also provided a chance for both parties to know each other, hence creating a caring and harmonious society which marked the activity more meaningful.
