AEON Mochi Making Demonstration 2018

AEON Mochi Making Demonstration 2018 was held on 1st January at AEON STYLE Kornhill and Whampoa to celebrate the joy of New Year with customers. Mochi-making is a traditional activity for celebrating New Year in Japan which symbolizes good health and good fortune. During the event, AEON staff demonstrated how to make Japanese "mochi" (rice cake) with traditional wooden mallets and shared information about mochi and traditional new year in Japan. After that, we invited customers to play quiz game in which the winners could go on the stage and try to pound mochi by themselves. At the end, mochi tasting are arranged for customers to get a taste of the traditional new year's food.
