Used Book Recycling Campaign 2014 - Opening Ceremony & Charity Sale

The Opening Ceremony of the “Used Book Recycling Campaign 2014”, jointly organized by AEON and World Vision Hong Kong, was held in Hollywood Plaza on 31st July to express our appreciation to the sponsors of the Campaign, as well as to kick-off the charity sale.

 

AEON and World Vision have been working together to organize the “Used Book Recycling Campaign” since 1992 to raise funds for education projects in China. In its 23rd year, the Campaign has collected over 350 thousand books for charity sale. All proceeds will be used for the construction of a multi-purpose building in Liannan Huilong School, Guangdong Province, to provide a safe environment for the students.

 

The Opening Ceremony had the honour of the presence of legislators Frederick Fung Kin- kee and Audrey Eu Yuet-mee, as well as actress Joey Meng Yee-man and actor BabyJohn Choi Hon-yik. They shared their reading interests and donated one of their beloved books for the charity sale, which is held from 31 July to 6 August in Hollywood Plaza, Diamond Hill and 12 August to 18 August in Fashion World, Whampoa Garden.
